Due to the constraints of high temperatures on productive summer fieldwork in the Tucson area, the Field School is offered during the spring semester (January 10th to May 2nd, 2007). Field and laboratory work will be scheduled from 8 am to approximately 4 pm on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.
To enrich the field experience and numerous informal talks, Monday afternoon lectures (4-5 pm) will explore the prehispanic cultures of the Sonoran Desert, current trends in archaeological method, theory, ethics, and cultural resource management.
Field trips to other archaeological sites in Arizona and northwest Mexico will take place on selected weekends.
